The Keg County Kowboys is a Hickman County civic group organized in October 1990, and chartered in July of 1997.  The group was formed to promote horse and mule related events such as trail rides and shows, but the members have expanded that mission over the years to include community service and a variety of events for both members and the general public.

A look at the Kowboy’s calendar of events will convince anyone that they are a busy and active group.  Lawnmower races, trail rides, pony pulling, and benefits are all a part of club activities open to the public.  The Keg County Kowboys own and maintain a campground on Old Mill Creek Road with a club house and bathroom facilities.  Members are entitled to reserve camp sites and use the club house for parties or other events.  Camping spots are sometimes available to non-members, although in summer months, the grounds are often full.

A track has been constructed at the camp for lawnmower races, which have proven to be one of the most popular events in the area.   Races are held several times a year.

For information on membership, camping or upcoming events, contact the club secretary at 615 – 509-6530.
