On the Saturday night before Halloween there is a gathering of ghouls, princesses, and super heroes on the Centerville Square like no other in the State of Tennessee. Since 2011 the Hickman County Chamber of Commerce hosts this one-of-a-kind event – the Hickman County Halloween Parade.
What began by Halloween enthusiasts, Bobby and Sandy McFarlin, as an elaborate display of holiday fun in their yard on West End Avenue, grew to include the entire Centerville Square. Businesses and civic organizations enter floats as hundreds- many in appropriate Halloween attire- watch the parade as it travels along Church Street, across the Square, then proceeds down North Central Avenue, up East Swan Street, and ending at the Centerville Church of Christ parking lot.
Bigger and better each year, the Hickman County Halloween Parade has something for everyone. So bring the kids to the Centerville Square on Oct. 28 for the spooky time of your life. The fun starts at 6:30.
