302 Hickory Trace
Surrounded by 192 acres of spectacular trees, wildflowers and breathtaking open meadows, Evermore Farm is a true gem. It is located right off Highway 100, in the Hilltop Community of Hickman County. The owners, George and Sarie Beckett practice truly sustainable living in all aspects of their lives.
Completely off-the-grid, their home is 100% powered by a 12,500 watt solar array with ample battery storage for cloudy days. LED lighting and special energy efficient appliances help to make this all possible. The entire house is air conditioned via mini-split heat pumps that provide cooling and an outdoor wood boiler that helps supplement the winter heating. In addition to their home and farm, the Beckett’s can also charge their Chevy Volt electric automobile, G.E. Elec-Trak riding garden tractors and a Duffy electric boat.
The construction of the house and barn was accomplished using nearly all green building materials from the foundations to the roofing. Extra Eco-friendly insulation, radiant heat barriers and special reflective shingles help keep the home cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
The beautiful home is furnished with classic antiques where they also utilize organic cotton and bamboo for mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, towels and part of their wardrobes. They are definitely an example of “extreme” recyclers as the farm also recycles standard items but extends their efforts to about thirty different recycling categories.
Recently the Beckett’s added a backyard concert stage, with a magnificent view, where they host Christian concerts and benefits each summer- all powered by the sun.
Much admiration and praise to the owners for accomplishing such a feat- to be self sustainable in this modern day world.
